Located just one block West of Shellmont Inn is MITRA, a Latin influenced restaurant with a unique Spanish flair. Not only is Mitra our personal favorite local restaurant, but it is a big hit with our guests. Many Inn guests dine there multiple times during their stay with us. The food is delicious, presentation supurb, the staff is attentive and friendly, the decor is bright, cheerful, even whimsical, and the price is extremely reasonable. And of course, the location is stellar! What more could you ask of a restaurant?
The menu is varied, the wine list is long and my personal menu favorite is “Vieras Frescas Acarameladas Con Jalapeno Y Lima”, Sea Scallops. Debbies’ favorite is “Salmon Pintado Con Granada”, Pomegranate glazed Cypress island salmon. Regardless of your menu selection, you won’t be disappointed. Mitra also has a Prix Fixe Menu option which is quite popular with its patrons. Don’t forget the appetizer…the calamari is by far the best I have ever tasted. Seriously!!!
