Shellmont is located in Midtown, the theatre, restaurant and cultural district of Atlanta. We are just two blocks from the "Miracle Mile" of Atlanta and about one mile north of the center of downtown Atlanta. The High Museum of Art and the Atlanta Civic Center are a short stroll from the Inn. Our location is ideally suited for both business and pleasure travelers.

Directions

  • I-75/I-85 Northbound
    Interstate 75 and Interstate 85 merge approximately 7 miles south of downtown Atlanta. Continue north toward downtown Atlanta past Turner Field (baseball stadium) on right, proceed northbound and go under I-20 overpass. Get in right lane and exit 248-C (International Blvd.) Go straight to the 2nd. Traffic light (Ellis Street)Turn left, go over bridge and turn right at traffic light (Piedmont Avenue – one way northbound). Proceed North about 1 mile to the intersection of Piedmont Avenue and 6th Street. Shellmont is located on the right on the corner. Park on 6th Street until you check-in.
    Note: If your vehicle contains 2 or more persons, you can use the HOV (High Occupancy Vehicle) lane, or express lane, the extreme left lane marked with a black and white diamond symbol. Follow the directions above but after going under the I-20 overpass, exit the next HOV left lane exit with sign stating Piedmont Avenue Exit. It will yield into Piedmont Avenue going northbound. Go north to Piedmont and 6th Street.
  • I75/I-85 Southbound
    Interstate 75 and Intersate 85 merge about 2 miles north of downtown Atlanta. Go past Georgia Tech basketball dome on the right and get in the extreme right lane. Exit at North Avenue/Georgia Institute of Technology Exit. Turn left at end of exit ramp on North Avenue. Go to 5th traffic light, turn left on Piedmont Avenue (one way northbound). Proceed north about 1 mile to Piedmont and 6th Street. Shellmont is located on the right on the corner. Park on 6th Street until you check-in.
  • MARTA (Rapid Rail) from Atlanta Hartsfield- Jackson Airport
    Access MARTA trains in terminal adjacent to baggage claim. Go to the Northbound Platform Side (Downtown Atlanta). Proceed to N-4 (Midtown, Northbound, 4th Station from Five Points)
    Exit Station on 10th Street Side. Turn right (East) go three blocks to Piedmont Avenue. Turn right and walk 4 blocks (South) to the Intersection of Piedmont and 6th Street. We are on the left corner.
