The Atlanta Botanical Garden, Orchid Daze Lasting Impressions is open thru April 13th, 2014. The Atlanta Botanical Garden Orchid Daze always lets me know that spring is nearby. So if you are weary of our cold weather and looking for a pick me up don’t miss the Atlanta Botanical Garden Orchid Daze, Lasting Impressions exhibit.
The Orchid Daze Lasting Impressions highlights three of my favorite artists, Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet and Paul Gauguin. Each of these artists found energy in landscapes. Van Gogh’s , Starry Nights captures the genius of using orange, yellow, blue and white color schemes. Jeweled toned miniature dancing lady orchids are the focus in this overhead design. The next exhibit begins with tranquil pools filled with pots of pink and salmon pansy orchids, beneath the trees are miniature orchids that remind us of beautiful tapestries and Monet’s beloved gardens at Giverny. Gauguin had visions of vibrantly colored tropical islands that are inspired by blue Vandas, orange Mandeville and yellow Nun’s orchids. Lush green foliage resembles Gaugin’s trademark Tahitian women figures.
