One of the things I love about living in Midtown and running an Atlanta Bed and Breakfast, is the great Atlanta restaurants located just blocks from our front door, including Lure Restaurant. Our guests are always raving about Lure Restaurant, a contemporary fish house that serves the freshest sustainable seafood with seasonal produce. I was thinking about keeping it a secret just for our Atlanta Bed and Breakfast guests to enjoy, but I couldn’t keep this one to myself.
One of the fascanating pieces of history at Lure Restaurant is the Iron Anchor that greets you when you arrive. It was raised from Boston Harbour over 300 years ago. Be sure and rub it for Good Luck!
The interior of Lure Restaurant is very clean and modern, with a great patio. If you live in the south you know that patio dining at our Atlanta Restaurants is at a premium nine months out of the year. Start with some of my favorite appetizers or plates for sharing, Cold-water Oysters on the half shell, New England Style Clam Chowder or Fried Rhode Island Calamari with pickled shallots. A fish house in Atlanta would not be a fish house without an entree of Georgia Rainbow Trout grilled to perfection. Don’t fret if you are not fond of fish you can always indulge in Grilled Rib-Eye with Steak Frites or Crispy Chicken Leg Dirty Rice. Be sure and save room for one of their unique desert selection, from Citrus Tart Georgia Pecans with soft whipped cream to Muscadine Membrillo with Pumpkin Pie Biscotti.
To stay hydrated, be sure and try a Shrub. A Shrub is a non-alcoholic cocktail that was popular during America’s Colonial era. The house-made shrub syrups are prepared with vinegar, fresh fruit, sugar and hand-mixed with soda. My favorite is the roasted strawberry balsamic shrub. If you prefer something a little stronger try a Shochu, it is somewhere between a martini and a glass of your favorite white wine. Each Shochu has its own flavors and aromas for you to delight in.
When you are making your reservations at our Atlanta Bed and Breakfast, I will be happy to make you reservations at one of our favorite Atlanta Restaurants, Lure Restaurant.
